Statement of Faith

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, known as “The Bible”, are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original autographs, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Bible is therefore, both the foundation and the operational basis on which the Corporation is governed. We believe that these Holy Scriptures supersede any earthly law that is contrary to this Word of God.

[Isa. 28:13; Neh. 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; 2 Pet. 1:21]

The Nature of God

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in a tri-unity of persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; co-equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all things, upholds all things, and governs all things.

[Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Mat. 28:19; John 10:30; Heb. 9:14]

God the Father

As to the person of God the Father, we believe He is an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of mankind; that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ, God the Son.

[Deut. 33:27; Ps. 90:2; Ps. 102:27; John 4:24; 1 Tim. 1:17; Titus 1:3]

God the Son

As to the person of God the Son, we believe our Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe in His sinless life, in His miracles and teachings, in His substitutionary atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father in Heaven, in His perpetual intercession for His people, and in His personal, visible return to the Earth.

[Mat. 1:18, 20, 3:17; Mark 1:11; Luke 1:31-35, 3:22; John 1:1, 3:16-18, 34-36; Isa. 7:14; Mic. 5:2; Mat. 1:23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35, 3:22; John 1:1-2, 8:58, 11:25; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Heb. 1:8; 1 John 1:2; Rev. 1:8]

God the Holy Spirit

As to the person of God the Holy Spirit, we believe He came forth from God the Father and God the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment; to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry, including the biblical exercise of His spiritual gifting, all who believe in Jesus Christ.

[Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 3:18; John 16:8-11; Rom. 15:13-16; Heb. 9:14; Rom. 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12-14; Eph. 4:11]

We believe in the present ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who indwells every believer in Jesus Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide, through whom the Word of God is revealed.

[John 14:16-17, 16:8-11]

The Covenant of Marriage

We believe that the human race was created as genetic male/man, and genetic female/ woman, by direct acts of God; that marriage has been established by God; therefore, marriage is a sacred covenantal union between one man and one woman, for life. We also believe that legitimate sexual relations are to be exercised solely within marriage, according to God’s Word. Hence, sexual activities such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, polygamy, homosexuality, transgender, bisexuality, cross-dressing, pedophilia and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious behavior, the creation, viewing and/or distribution of pornography, and efforts to alter one’s gender, are not compatible with a truly biblical worldview.

[Gen. 2:24; 1 Cor. 5:11, 6:9, 6:18-20, 7:1-3, 7:8-9; Rom. 1:18-32]

We believe that the solemnizing of a marriage is a sacred and profound event that shall be entered into, only where the proposed covenantal union is in compliance with the Word of God; we also believe that the solemnizing of a marriage between men or women of the same gender is contrary to the Word of God and is considered a sin by God.

[Gen. 2:18-24; Lev. 20:13]

The Salvation of the Lost

We believe that all people are sinners by nature, and therefore are under condemnation. We believe that the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation. We believe that God regenerates and saves those who respond in faith and repentance to the biblical gospel, confessing Jesus Christ as Lord. We also believe in the preservation of the genuine believer’s place in Christ, by God the Holy Spirit.

[Rom. 3:10; 1 John 1:8; Rom. 3:23; John 3:18; Rom. 6:23; Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 3:18; John 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 7:10; John 14:6; 1 Tim. 2:5; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:8-13; John 1:12-13; Rom. 8:30; Eph. 1:13-14]

The Total Depravity of Man

Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners, hopelessly incapable of salvation in themselves, apart from the grace of God. Total depravity does not mean total inability. Every individual must personally believe or reject the free gift of eternal life as the Holy Spirit draws, but not forces, them to Christ.
[Gen. 1:27, 9:6; Rom. 5:12, 3:23; Eph. 2:1]

Eternal Salvation

Salvation is received by faith alone in Christ alone, who died in substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and rose again. Eternal salvation can never be attained by one’s own efforts at moral improvement; through a promise or pledge to do better; through making a commitment of some kind to God; by turning from sin; through a willingness to stop sinning or improve one’s behavior; nor through any other effort that relegates eternal salvation to some type of two-way contract or agreement between God and man.  When it comes to eternal salvation, Jesus paid it all.  It is nothing in our hands we bring, simply to the cross we cling!  There is one giver: God.  And one receiver: man.  We receive the free gift of eternal salvation, fully paid for by the blood of Christ, by trusting Him and Him alone as the only one who can forgive our sin and save us from sin’s penalty, namely, eternity in hell.
[John 1:12; 3:16; 5:24; 8:24; Acts 4:12; 13:38,39; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 3:24; 4:4-5; 5:1; Rev. 21:6; 22:17]

Eternal Security and Assurance of Salvation

All who are born of the Spirit through faith in Christ have the assurance of salvation and are eternally secure in Christ.
[Rom. 5:1; John 3:5-6; 1 John 5:13; John 10:28,29; 17:12; 2 Tim. 1:12]

Personal Spiritual Growth

Every believer is justified at the moment of faith in Christ (positional salvation once and for all in the past from sin’s penalty), and is promised ultimate glorification (perfect salvation in the future from sin’s presence), with the possibility of progressive sanctification throughout the Christian life as he yields to the Holy Spirit and walks by faith, (practical salvation day by day from sin’s power). [Heb. 10:10,14; John 17:17; Eph. 5:26-27; 1 Thess. 4:3,4; 1 John 3:2]

The Church

The Church, comprised of all true believers of this present age, is the body and bride of Christ, formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  The local assembly is a subset of the universal church and is comprised of a group of localized believers who meet regularly for worship, study, prayer and fellowship for the mutual edification of its members. The scriptural ordinances of the local church are baptism and the Lord's supper are for all believers. [Eph. 1:22,23; 5:24,25,30; 1 Cor. 12:12,13,27; Mat. 28:19,20; Mark 16:15,16; Acts 8:12,36-38; 9:18; 10:47; 1 Cor. 1:16; 11:23-26]

Spiritual Gifts

God is sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts.  The Holy Spirit gifts believers in the present age with various abilities for the edification and effectiveness of the church in a lost and dying world.  Some of these gifts that are more revelatory in nature gradually ceased to be normative as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established.  However, this does not mean that the activities represented by these gifts are no longer occurring in the world today.  The Holy Spirit is alive and well, and He moves in miraculous ways throughout the earth in order to reach the lost, heal the sick, illuminate God’s Word, and lead and guide believers.
[1 Cor. 12:4-11; Rom. 12:3-8; Eph. 4:7-12; 1 Pet. 4:7-11; John 16:5-15]

Evangelism

It is the obligation of the saved to witness by word and by deed to the truths of Holy Scripture and to seek to proclaim the gospel to all mankind.
[Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:19-20]

Eternal Rewards

Christians are called to a life of faithful and obedient service to our Lord and to a testimony of holiness in the power of the Holy Spirit, which service includes the propagation of the Gospel message to the whole world. There is promised reward in the future Messianic Kingdom for faithfulness in such service.
[Mat. 6:19-21; Luke 19:11-27; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 3:12-15; 2 Cor. 5:9-11; Col. 3:23-24; 1 John 2:28; 2 John 8; Rev. 22:12]

Angels

Angels were originally created holy but now exist as unfallen and fallen including Satan.
[Col. 1:16; Neh. 9:6; Ps. 143:2-5; Jude 6; Mat. 25:41; Rev. 12:9; Eph. 6:11-12]

Satan

Satan is the author of sin and the cause of the fall of mankind.  He is the open and declared enemy of God and man and in the future he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.
[Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Mat. 4:2-11; Mat. 25:41; Rev. 20:10]

Age of the Earth

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal, 24-hour days, as described in the book of Genesis. The biblical account of creation is a historical narrative, not allegory or poetry, and is affirmed throughout Scripture. Genesis 1 clearly states that God created everything in six days, with each day marked by "evening and morning". Exodus 20:11 confirms this timeline, stating, "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day." Jesus also affirmed the creation account when He referenced the beginning of creation.

[Gen. 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31; Ex. 20:11; Mark 10:6]

We reject interpretations that attempt to extend the creation timeline beyond what Scripture plainly teaches. The Bible is our final authority, and we hold to a young-earth view consistent with the Word of God. [Gen. 1:1-31; Gen. 2:1-3; Ps. 33:6, Heb. 11:3]

The Dispensations

God has revealed different dispensations or stewardships with corresponding rules of life, of which the present dispensation is the Church Age.  These various dispensations do not represent different ways of individual salvation, but rather different ways in which mankind interacts with his Creator.  Individual salvation, in all ages, has always been by grace through faith alone.
[Eph. 3:2-6,9-11; Col. 1:25-27; Rom. 6:14; Heb. 7:18-19]

Fulfillment of Biblical Prophecies

We believe in the Rapture of the Church, where all believers will meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air, then be taken out of this world prior to the Great Tribulation judgments that will come upon the Earth.

[Mat. 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Rom. 1:18, 5:9; 1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thess. 1:10, 4:13-17, 4:13-17, 5:9; 2 Pet. 2:7-9; Rev. 5:7-10, 7:13-14]

We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to Earth and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom.

[Mat. 24:27, 29-31; 1 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 9:28; Rev. 1:7, 19:11-13; Rev. 20:4-6; Dan. 2:44; Isa. 9:6-7; Heb. 1:8]

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost to final judgment; where those that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life with God in a literal Heaven, and where those that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal suffering without God in a literal Hell.

[Dan. 12:2; Mat. 25:31-46; Rom. 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:10; Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:11-15; 1 Pet. 1:3; Rev. 3:5; Mat. 7:22, 13:40-42; 2 Thess. 1:7]

Duty as a Watchman

We believe that as followers of Christ, we are called to be watchmen on the wall, standing firm in truth, sounding the alarm, and warning others of the coming judgment and the return of our Lord. Scripture makes it clear that God appoints watchmen to remain vigilant, proclaim His Word, and alert others to the spiritual dangers ahead.

[Ezek. 3:17; Ezek. 33:2-7; Isa. 62:6; Hab. 2:1; Mat. 24:42; Mark 13:33-37; 1 Thess. 5:6; Mat. 24:42; Mark 13:33-37; Rev. 3:3]
